  • Dear Prospective Students and Parents

We appreciate your interest in Christian Academy of Western New York. We are pleased with the academic and spiritual reputation of the school and we are making huge strides in the area of athletics and music as well.

Academic Standards

It is the belief of the Academy that a quality education is the result of:

  1. A curriculum that integrates God's Truth into all courses and adequately prepares the student for future educational endeavors
  2. Teachers that are Christian in philosophy
  3. Classes which enable the student to derive maximum benefit from his academic exposure

Each student is expected to use all available school and home resources and to perform at his highest level in order to take full advantage of the educational program. His or her originality and creativity are encouraged within the organized framework of the classroom.

Talking about or engaging in cheating or plagiarism is strictly forbidden. The focal point of the Academy's instruction is the teacher. Each member of the faculty is qualified to be involved in the teaching process. An atmosphere is carefully established that will enable the student to derive maximum benefit from his academic exposure.

Accreditation

CAWNY was granted a New York State Charter by the Board of Regents in 2002 (#16-526).  The elementary school is approved by the local Board of Education.  CAWNY is also a member with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) approved, accepting international students.

Curriculum

The core curriculum of CAWNY comes from Bob Jones University Press in Greenville, SC.  Underlying every textbook are biblical principles combined with academic excellence to provide our students with the best training possible.  Abeka and ACSI curriculum are also used.

A student may earn their Regents and Honors diplomas at CAWNY.

CAWNY follows the NYS testing schedule for grades 3-12, and also administers Stanford tests.
